Beihang University
Baiyan's hometown is a majestic university. The Spring and Autumn Chronicles, the rugged sea route. In 1950, the Korean War broke out. On the battlefield of the Korean War, there was a significant disparity in the strength of the enemy and our air forces. The urgent need for war has driven the transition of China's aviation industry from repair to manufacturing, and the country urgently needs to establish an aviation university. In 1951, the state decided to merge the Aviation Department of Beiyang University, Xiamen University, and Northwest Institute of Technology into the Aviation Engineering Department of Tsinghua University, establishing the School of Aviation Engineering of Tsinghua University; Integrate the Department of Aviation Engineering of Yunnan University into the Department of Aviation of Sichuan University; Incorporate the Aviation Specialized Program of Southwest Polytechnical College into the Department of Aviation Engineering at the School of Engineering, North China University. In 1952, in accordance with the requirements of the national adjustment of higher education departments, Beijing Institute of Aeronautics was established. It was formed by the merger of the Department of Aeronautics at Beijing Institute of Technology (renamed Beijing Institute of Technology on November 18, 1951), the School of Aeronautical Engineering at Tsinghua University, and the Department of Aeronautics at Sichuan University. On October 25, 1952, the founding ceremony of Beijing Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics was held in the auditorium of Beijing Institute of Technology (formerly the former site of Sino French University). In 1988, Beihang University was renamed as Beihang University (abbreviated as Beihang).
